For Mothers Day...

Genesis 2:20-22
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowls of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
God could have created them at the same time. He could have created woman with his words. But he created her second, and he used Adam's rib to make her. This is to symbolize to us the role of women. to be a helper to man. To raise his children, to serve him with all her soul.
1 Timothy 2:12
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor usurp authority over the man, but be in silence.
1 Timothy 5:14
I will therefore that the younger woman marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.
In the last chapter of Proverbs we read what God's Idea of woman is. Verses 10-12 say, "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life."
It then goes on to explain all she does for he household.
Men and woman are to work as a team. The man is to be the protector, provider, and spiritual leader of the home. The woman is to care for the household, watch over and love their children, and to help her man fulfill his hopes and dreams for their family.
It is extremely important that women and men know their place. Women in our day are stepping out of their roles, becoming government leaders, soldiers, and such things that take them away from their homes. And un-manly men have simply stepped down and allowed it to happen.
Yesterday was mothers day. And I can think of no better mother than my own. Such an amazing love she has for my daddy, and us children. She is not perfect, but she has God to help her be a helper. And God's love shines through her.
   I love you, Mom!
